WHEATLAND — November 2, 2026. Wheatland Public Works operates the municipal street, stormwater, water distribution and wastewater systems, with a published after-hours service hotline.

What the department manages

The city lists streets, stormwater infrastructure, sewer collection, wastewater treatment, public parks and maintenance vehicles as responsibilities. Water leaks, blocked sewer mains and dangerous city-owned infrastructure may require a public works response.

Call the correct number

The city provides the after-hours hotline at 530-633-0926, separate from the weekday office and city hall contacts. The Public Works Director’s office lists 530-633-8192 for general inquiries.

Safety and jurisdiction

In a life-threatening emergency call 911. For nonemergency matters, supply a precise street address or intersection, photograph only from a safe place and verify whether the issue is under city, county or private jurisdiction.
